Four items to bring to your attention:
1 - Call for Presenters for AOR2010
If you would like to present at AOR 2010 there are details on how to do so here. I would like to encourage Oceania members to be actively involved in helping shape the content of AOR 2010. It's our conference and it needs to represent the topics we are passionate about and want to share with Asia and the wider IAEM and emergency management communities.
2 - Auckland CEM Study Workshop, CEM Exam and CEM 101 Presentation
All taking place on 16 February. Whether you are just starting to think about your CEM or are almost finished, one or more of these three sessions, being held at GEOC, ARC, will be useful to you. Contact details and further information can be downloaded here.
3 - CEM Canterbury Study Group
Last night the Canterbury CEM Study group met and will be continuing to meet fortnightly to work together on progressing their CEM folders. They have scheduled the afternoon of April 23rd for a CEM exam (time to be confirmed). If you would like to join the study group or are interested in sitting the exam on April 23rd please contact Esther Griffiths or filling in an enquiry form. Each two-weekly goal will be posted on the Oceania website so others outside of Christchurch or who can't make a meeting can stay on track. The first goal is to look at the CEM Corner articles, register for CEM or AEM, download the application booklet and pull together all your training records for sorting out at the next meeting.
4 - Upcoming Events
IAEM is supporting conferences in both Australia and New Zealand in February and we would like to add more to our events calendar. We will list any events of relevance to members on the events calendar but events where IAEM has a presence, are organised as IAEM events or members receive a discounted attendance rate can also receive profile on the global website and listing in the IAEM Bulletin. If you have events you want listed please provide the details using an enquiry form.
Kind regards and have a great weekend
